The songs of the upcoming Mammootty-Jewel Mary starrer "Pathemari" were released on Monday, 14 September.
The film, written and directed by Salim Ahamed, talks about Malayali immigrants in West Asia. The plot of the film revolves around Pallickal Narayanan (Mammootty), who migrated to the Middle-East in the early 1980s, when the Kerala Gulf boom was at its peak. Jewel Mary plays the character of his wife, Nalini.
There are three songs in "Pathemari", all of which have been composed by National Award winning music director Bijibal. The first song, 'Padiyirangunnu' has been sung by Hariharan, while the titular song, 'Pathemari' has been crooned by Shahabaz Aman. The third song, 'Ithu Paro Swargamo', has been sung by Jyotsna Radhakrishnan.
Actor Siddique's son Shaheen Siddique, who is making his acting debut in the film, will be featured as the son of Narayanan and Nalini. Siddique will also play a pivotal role in the upcoming movie.
The cast also includes Sreenivasan, Balachandra Menon, Joy Mathew, Salim Kumar and Yavanika Gopalakrishnan in key roles.
Oscar winner Resul Pookkutty will handle the sound design, while cinematography will be done by Madhu Ambat.
Mammootty had previously teamed up with director Salim in "Kunjananthante Kada", while this is the second time that he will play the lead opposite Jewel Mary, after the satirical Onam release, "Utopiayile Rajavu".
