A man with a suspcious bag was caught by security forces at a barricade near the Pathankot air base on Wednesday evening, said reports.

The bearded man in a black jacket was caught while trying to jump over the barrcade with a bag on his shoulder. Though he did not heed to the orders of the security personnel initially, they cornered him and made him lie down on the ground, IANS reported.

The Punjab Police and the NSG commandos had reached the spot immediately. The security forces did not find anything dangerous in the bag, and he was later taken to the police station for interrogation.

The barricade was put up by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Saturday and no unauthorised people are allowed to go towards the air base, including the media.

The development comes in the backdrop of the Pathankot air base attack, which resulted in the death of seven security personnel. All six terrorists were neutralised during the four-day encounter.
