Pantanjali has retained the topmost slot in the list of top 10 Indian brands for the third week in a row, beating established brands like Hindustan Unilever, Cadbury and Procter & Gamble.
Data for week six — Feb. 6 to 12 — published by television audience measurement agency Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India on Friday revealed FMCG company Patanjali Ayurved was ahead of consumer brands Cadbury, Fair & Lovely and Colgate.
Patanjali Ayurved, which makes toothpaste, noodles, rice, chyawanprash and other personal-care and Ayurveda products, made it to the top for the first time in the week of Jan. 23 to 29, 2016.
The Haridwar-based company, whose products are endorsed by yoga guru Ramdev, aims to reach Rs 1,000 crore in annual sales in about a year to 18 months, according to Kishore Biyani, CEO of Future Group, which retails Patanjali products through its Big Bazaar outlets.
Other brands that figured in the list released Friday include Mahindra & Mahindra, Dove, Parle, Horlicks and Airtel
BARC India also released the lists of popular TV channels, TV programmes for the week. Sun TV tops the list of popular TV channels across all genres, followed by Star Plus and Zee TV.
As for popular content in Hindi, "Naagin", aired on Colors, was the top-rated programme. The onset of the cricket season was evident from the fact that two India-Sri Lanka T20 matches aired on Doordarshan was among the top five programmes.
