Suriya's production "Pasanga 2" and Jayam Ravi starrer "Bhooloham", also spelled as "Boologam", have opened to good response at the box office in Tamil Nadu.
The latest Tamil flicks were released on Thursday , 24 December, to coincide with Christmas celebration and the festive occasion has yielded good results for "Pasanga 2" and "Bhooloham". While the children's film has got mixed reviews, the sports-based film of Jayam Ravi has got positive response.
Giving a hint of good opening, trade tracker Kannan tweeted, "#Booloham has taken super start at TN Box-office & getting decent reports too whereas #Pasanga2 good opening but mixed reviews & reactions." Confirming about the start received by the Jayam Ravi's film, another tracker Ramesh posted, "#Bhooloham - Off to a Smashing Start."
The exact collections of "Pasanga 2" and "Bhooloham" have not been revealed yet. But the buzz says that the films could have made somewhere between Rs 2-4 crores on the release day in Chennai. Hence, the opening is considered to be good for both the Kollywood flicks.
The new films are expected to do well given the three-day Christmas holiday weekend not just in Tamil Nadu but also in neighbouring states of Karnataka and Kerala. The advance booking has got good response for the weekend shows.
The releases of "Pasanga 2" and "Bhooloham" are likely to impact previous-week release "Thanga Magan" to some extent.
"Pasanga 2" is written and directed by Pandiraj. The features Nishesh, Baby Vaishnavi, Aarush, Karthik Kumar, Bindu Madhavi and others in the cast. Suriya has done a cameo. It is kind of an off-beat film but the content has been loved by family audience.
Coming to "Bhooloham", Jayam Ravi's film is an action-packed movie mainly dealing with boxers. Trisha Krishnan has played the female lead role and Prakash Raj has an important character.
