A message claiming Parvathamma Rajkumar passing away last night is doing rounds on WhatsApp and other social media sites and it has turned out to be just a hoax as the producer is still alive despite her condition being critical.
The last formal update on Parvathamma Rajkumar's health came on Friday, 26 May. Shivaraj Kumar, her elder son, told in a press meet that her condition had deteriorated compared to Thursday. She got fever after undergoing tracheostomy on Wednesday. A 5-member doctor team is closely monitoring her health.
Shivaraj Kumar says that Parvathamma Rajkumar cannot be declared safe as she is still on life support. He is hopeful of her recovery.
Parvathamma Rajkumar was to taken to MS Ramaiah Hospital on May 14 after she complained of giddiness, fatigue and breathing problems. As per The Hindu, the 78-year old was treated for malignancy a few years back and now has metastasis (the development of secondary malignant growth at a distance from a primary site of cancer).
Parvathamma Rajkumar, the wife of matinee idol late Dr Rajkumar, is a leading producer of Sandalwood, who has made over 75 movies in the Kannada language.
Many celebrities and politicians, including Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah have paid a visit to the hospital and wished her a speedy recovery.
