It appears like Priyanka Chopra and cousin Parineeti Chopra, who were supposed to collide at the box office on the same day, on 5 September, with their respective films, are now reportedly keeping a safe distance.
Parineeti's "Daawat-e-Ishq" has been reportedly postponed to 19 September after the poster and teaser of Priyanka's much awaited film, "Mary Kom" received overwhelming responses from the audience, reported The Times of India.
While speaking about the film's delay, "Daawat-e-Ishq" producer Aditya Chopra cleared the air
that as a unique marketing strategy implemented by his production house (Yash Raj Films) for the promotions of the flick, the release date for "Daawat-e-Ishq" has been postponed.
However, according to a source from the industry, since the Parineeti starrer has failed to create a magic with its recently released trailer, the makers have decided not to clash with the biopic "Mary Kom" at the box office.
"Mary Kom", produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Viacom 18, is based on self-controlled, disciplined life of five-time world champion and an Olympic bronze medalist Mary Kom, who struggled to become what she is today.
The "Gunday" actress has completely transformed herself from a glamorous look to flaunting some cut muscle. Her new avatar has already created a huge buzz among the fans and the industry.

On the other hand, Habib Faisal's "Daawat-e-Ishq" is all about food and its indulgence. Aditya Roy Kapur plays the lead character and the film is set in Hyderabad. The movie features the "Hasee Toh Phasee" actress as Gulrez "Gullu" Qadir, who is a disillusioned Hyderabadi girl and Kapur as Tariq "Taru" Haidar, a Lucknawi cook, who attracts people with his delicious recipes.

Last year too, Priyanka's "Zanjeer" and Parineeti's "Shuddh Desi Romance" hit the silver screens on 5 September. With such coincidences, it appeared like both the sisters are destined to clash at the box office. However, with the recent changes in "Daawat-e-Ishq" release date, it looks like both will have enough space to rule the box office.
While the youth-oriented flick "Shuddh Desi Romance" starring Sushant Singh Rajput received positive critics, Priyanka's "Zanjeer", which was the remake of a 1973 film with the same name, along with southern superstar Ram Charan Teja did only an average business at the box office.
However, it remains to be seen what the Chopra sisters have in store for their fans this year.
