Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra seems to have landed herself in trouble because of her own statement. The diva recently attended an event at a self-defence academy for women in Mumbai along with Akshay Kumar.
At the event, Parineeti talked about her childhood when she didn't get to join martial arts class due to money crunch. "We didn't have any money, so I used to commute by cycle to school. We did not have a car, or even money for the bus. I used to fight with my mom and dad saying why do I have to cycle to school every day. I did not have the money to join a martial arts class during the time," she said.
But it looks like it didn't go down well with a few of her schoolmates. One of them, Kkanoo Gupta, shared a post on Facebook accusing the actress of lying. He said: "Parineeti Chopra Shame........ coming from a privileged background and lying through the teeth in front of camera. I guess this is what being a celebrity means. Create a fabricated sob story of no money no car etc etc."
"Coming from the same school I probably also remember the car her father used to have. And going to school on a cycle was a trend those days and also a privilege not every one had," he added. Well, that was unexpected!
However Parineeti didn't hold back and clarified her point on social media. She released a statement, which stated that what she said at the martial arts event has been misconstrued. Her response, though, looks like she is trying hard to gather the broken pieces. Isn't it too late Parineeti?
