Ranbir Kapoor is on high demand after the super successful film "Yeh Jawaani Hai deewani", co-starring his ex-flame Deepika Padukone. The heartthrob of Bollywood cinema has his hands full with multiple film projects including "Besharam" and "Roy", which is in the pre-production stage.
Ranbir is also expected to work with filmmaker Karan Johar in his next film. It is believed that Karan will start the film after completing Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet" in which he essays a negative role. Interestingly, the film has Ranbir in the lead role. Once the project is completed, Karan and Ranbir might begin their new film.
If these reports are true, then Karan would be wielding the megaphone for the first time with Ranbir as the hero. The director has earlier produced two of Ranbir's films - "Wake Up Sid" and "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani".
Latest buzz about the new film is that one of the most sought-out actresses of Hindi cinema, Parineeti Chopra, might be roped to play the female lead for Ranbir. In that case, it would be their first film together as the leading stars. However, there is no official confirmation on the same.
The director said, "I'm still scripting the film and have not offered the film formally to any lead actress," according to The Times of India.
There are reports doing the rounds that Karan is also planning to introduce a newbie in his film. But, it is not clear whether the newcomer will be given a role in Ranbir's film or in any of those films that Karan is co-producing with other production houses.
