Bold, brazen and beautiful, Radhika Apte is one of the few who isn't afraid to speak her mind. Unlike most of her contemporaries, she makes interesting choices when it comes to films.
The nude scene from upcoming film Parched, that was leaked online and even sold as porn in parts of the country, had many people talking. But Radhika remained tight-lipped. Talking about the controversy to Mid-Day, she said she didn't find it necessary to react to the noise because one can find such clips online at any given time.
"I did the film, didn't I? I want everybody to watch the movie. I was never under the impression that I should do the film but it shouldn't be shown openly. That would be prudish, right?," she asked.
While some criticised her bold choices, most have appreciated her for taking a step in a different direction. However, Radhika doesn't believe she isn't doing anything out of the ordinary because that's just how she is – confident.
She also shared what her husband, Benedict Taylor, thought of the intimate scene with Adil Hussain in Parched. "He (Benedict) is one of the most liberal men I have met. He encourages me to break boundaries. This kind of support from the whole family helps. You don't have another battle to fight at home at least," she said.
Directed by Leena Yadav, Parched stars Tannishtha Chatterjee, Surveen Chawla, Lehar Khan, Riddhi Sen and Sayani Gupta in the lead. The film is scheduled to release on September 23.
