With the popularity of social media, the rate of cyber crimes has increased way too much. When it comes to explicit contents shared on social media, celebrities have often become victims of leaked photos and videos.
After Hansika Motwani, Radhika Apte and Lakshmi Menon among many others, Malayalam serial actress Gayathri Arun, who is known for her character Deepthi in "Parasparam", had also fallen prey to a leaked video, which had gone viral on social media.
In a recent interview to a Malayalam news channel, the actress said about the issues she had to face after the video went viral on Whatsapp and other social media platforms.
The incident happened while she was at the peak of her career. Even a fake Facebook page of the actress was also created.
"It hasn't affected my family life, but I was upset as many people who don't know me personally sent me messages, saying they didn't expect this from me. People misused my identity and circulated a phone number, claiming to be mine," the actress said.
Following this, the actress filed a complaint in the cyber cell and posted regarding the matter on her official Facebook page.
