While superstar Kamal Haasan will not be present at the premiere of his latest outing "Papanasam", his daughters Shruti and Akshara Haasan are keen to watch the movie with the audience.
"Papanasam" is slated to hit screens on 3 July and distributors of north India have planned a special screening of "Papanasam" in Mumbai on 2 July, a day before its release.
Though Kamal Haasan wanted to attend the premiere of "Papanasam", he decided to give it a miss as 2 July happens to be his wife Gautami's birthday and he wants to spend some quality time with her.
However, the actor's daughters are very excited about the film, which underlines the relationship between a father and daughter. In the film too Kamal has two daughters.
"Drishyam" is a thriller family drama and the storyline s closely related to the real life of Kamal Haasan, who shares a great bond with both his daughters Shruti and Akshara.
"Shruti and Akshara are, indeed, keen to go to a city theatre and watch the movie as well as the audience's reactions," Kamal said.
"Papanasam" is a Tamil remake of the Malayalam film "Drishyam", which has already been remade in Kannada as "Drishya" and Telugu as "Drushyam" and released in theatres earlier. All the three versions have proved to be hits at the box office.
"Drishyam" is also being made in Hindi with the same title. The movie, starring Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Tabu and Rajat Kapoor in the leads, is slated to release in theatres worldwide on 31 July.
