Kamal Haasan starrer "Papanasam" has got a flying start at the box office. The Tamil movie has opened to highly positive reviews from the audience and critics.
"Papanasam" was released on Friday, 3 July in India and a day before in some foreign countries including Malaysia. As the movie was the remake of successful Malayalam movie "Drishyam", people seems like were pretty confidence of the content. Hence, thronged into the theatres.
As expected, "Papanasam" did not disappoint them and impressed the audience with the content. Not to forget the brilliant performance of the cast including Kamal Haasan.
"Papanasam" has been released in over 410 screens in Tamil Nadu and over 750 worldwide. The early reports from the trade say that the movie has made close to 8 crore on the first day. Nonetheless, the confirmed report is not available at this stage.
Traders are expecting "Papanasam" to have a fantastic weekend, given the extraordinary word-of-mouth it has garnered. The film is expected to register record collection on its first Sunday (5 July). We have to wait and see whether it breaks any record.
"Papanasam" is a family-thriller drama directed by Jeetu Joseph. Gauthami, Niveda Thomas, Asha Sarath, Kalabhavan Mani, Esther Anil, MS Bhaskar and others are in the cast.
