Pandvar Ani, headed by Nasser, after registering a thumping victory at the recently-held Nadigar Sangam elections, is all set for their first Executive Meeting on Sunday, 25 October.
The members of the Nadigar Sangam will be discussing key issues at RKV Studios in Chennai. The new president, Nasser, secretary, Vishal, treasurer, Karthi, vice-presidents Ponvannan and Karunaas, and other 24 members will be present at the meeting.
The issue of the controversial deal signed by the previous dispensation with SPI Cinemas for leasing out the Nadigar Sangam's land apparently tops the list. Generating funds for the welfare of poor artists is also on the agenda. The name change of Nadigar Sangam, which is also known as the South India Artistes Association, will also be debated.
During campaigning, Pandavar Ani had promised to scrap the deal; it has to be seen now whether they keep their word. There are huge expectations from them to deliver as Pandavar Ani has come to power with the promise of bringing the necessary changes to the organisation.
Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan to be offered honorary positions?
There are rumours that the Pandavar Ani will discuss about offering honorary positions to Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. It is said that the new office bearers want to give the positions of Honorary Advisers of the artistes' guild to the two big stars. A resolution will be passed if they get maximum votes.
It has to be noted that Kamal Haasan had openly supported the candidatures of Nasser and other members at Nadigar Sangam elections, which was held on 18 October.
