Japanese consumer electronics giant, Panasonic is all set to launch the company's flagship Eluga smartphone series in India this week.
In 2013, Panasonic forayed into the Indian market with P-series devices and now the company is set to unveil the marquee Eluga series handsets in the sub-continent. It has begun sending out press invites to select media houses for the launch event on 30 July, reported BGR India.
There is no word on whether the company would launch new Eluga series devices or the old models – Eluga Power & Eluga DL1, which have already released in European markets in 2012.
Panasonic Eluga Power sports a HD (1280x720p) screen and ships Android OS powered 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt storage (expandable up 32GB), 8.0-megapixel camera, secondary camera on the front and a 1800 mAh battery.
On the other hand, Eluga DL1 flaunts a smaller 4.3-inch qHD (960x540p) screen and houses a 1GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB memory, 8.0-megapixel camera and a 1500 mAh battery.
Both the Eluga smartphones boast of water-and-dust resistant IP57 certifications (users can take them 3-feet under-water for close to 30 minutes) and if they are priced competitively, they can pose a serious threat to popular mid-range devices - Moto G, Asus Zenfone series, HTC Desire 616 and other domestic brands.
