Owing to the growing demand for premium budget devices, Panasonic has launched its all new Eluga Mark in India on Thursday.
While all other companies are focused on bringing out high-end features at low cost, Panasonic has combined good spec-sheet with high-standard security features in its new device.
Panasonic Eluga Mark strikes an irresistible appeal for the enterprise sector, with integrated support for Android-For-Work that ensures it is compatible to work on secure corporate networks. For added security, the handset also features a fingerprint scanner and offers complete protection for personal accounts and cloud data.
"With the growing use of smartphones for a wider range of high-risk activities such as access to cloud data and private information, mobile security is a top priority for users. This control-sensitive device, which achieves complex tasks with the press of a finger or a swipe of the thumb, is personalised for the user and protects the smartphone investment," said Pankaj Rana, Business Head – Mobility Division, Panasonic India, in a statement.
With all the focus on security and enterprise, Panasonic Eluga Mark does not compromise on the looks or specifications. It has a pretty-straightforward design strategy and looks somewhat similar to Coolpad Note 3. The Mark measures 152 x 77 x 8.2 mm. The fingerprint sensor sits on the back of the phone just below the camera sensor, and users can register up to eight fingerprints at a time.
On the specs side, Eluga Mark is powered by a 1.5-GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with the company's own FitHome UI that "enables single thumb-flick access to applications on the home screen".
On the outlook, Eluga Mark features a 5.5-inch IPS HD display, 13MP primary camera with LED flash and 5MP front snapper. The handset draws its power from a 2,500mAh battery and has the usual options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, A-GPS, dual SIM and 4G LTE support.
Available in two colours — Royal Gold and Metallic Grey — Panasonic Eluga Mark will be available online and offline stores at Rs 11,990. With this price tag, the handset competes with the likes of Lenovo K3 Note, Moto G third generation, Coolpad Note 3, Obi Worldphone SF1 among others.
