Gilgit, Nov 11 : Despite the death of its commander Hakimullah Mehsud in a US drone strike, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is on a rampage in Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. The TTP, an umbrella organization of various Islamist militant groups based in North Waziristan, is not only responsible for targeting Shias, but also for killing foreign tourists. The outlawed group recently issued a warning about targeting the Shia community in Gilgit Baltistan. Such open threats expose the inadequate security measures put in place by the administration for the safety of the people of Gilgit Baltistan.
