Pakistani model and controversy queen Fouzia Azeem alias Qandeel Baloch was allegedly shot dead by her brother in Multan on Saturday, according to media reports.
Qandeel, who is known for posting bold statement and nude selfies on social media, became the latest victim of honour killing after her brother killed her to save the family honour.
"Baloch was killed by her brother over honour in Muzaffarabad's Green Town area," the Express Tribune quoted the area's RPO as saying.
Initial reports suggested that the controversial Pakistani model was shot dead by her brother, but the latest reports suggest that she was strangled to death. "It appears that she was strangled to death," the RPO told the daily.
Her brother has reportedly fled after killing Qandeel.
Qandeel's brother had earlier threatened her for posting semi-nude selfies on social media. He also asked her to stop posting images and bold statements on social media.
She also wrote to the interior minister asking for security, after she received several threatening messages and calls. But since there was no response on that, she had planned to settle down abroad.
"I know I will not be provided security and I am not feeling secured here so have decided to move abroad with my parents after Eidul Fitr," Qandeel had told the Express Tribune.
Qandeel is a popular figure in Pakistan as well as in India. There were also reports that she was approached to participate in Indian reality show "Bigg Boss 10."
