Pakistan's military released a video on Wednesday of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militant group's former spokesperson alleging that Afghanistan and Indian intelligence agencies gave funds and other assistance to the group's militants to fight Islamabad, reports state.
The video also showed TTP militant Ehsanullah Ehsan confessing that he participated in anti-Pakistan activities from sanctuaries in Afghanistan and surrendered "voluntarily" to the Pak security forces.
"My name is Liaquat Ali, alias Ehsanullah Ehsan. I belong to the Mohmand tribal region and had joined the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in 2008, when I was in college," Ehsan is heard saying in Urdu in the video.
"I have been spokesperson for Taliban and Jamaatul-Ahrar," he said. "There, we established and developed contacts with India and its spy agency RAW. TTP got their (Indian) support, their funding and took money for every terrorist activity in Pakistan. They pushed TTP soldiers on the frontlines to fight against Pakistan army and went into hiding themselves," he claimed.
"These (terrorist) organisations have established committees in Afghanistan through which they communicate and coordinate with RAW. Indians had given them special visas to help them move around in Afghanistan with ease," Ehsan said in the video.
The militant added that his "relations with NDS and RAW grew" after Pakistan's military launched a major military campaign against the Taliban in their strongholds in North Waziristan in 2014, forcing the militants to flee to Afghanistan.
Afghanistan and India however have rejected any such allegations of funding terrorist attacks on Pakistan.
A senior security official from Afghanistan dismissed the allegations, and said that Ehsan's comments have been spun by Pakistan.
"Pakistan has always been pushing this narrative of being victim of terrorism, while the fact is it sponsors and supports terrorist activities in Afghanistan and India," the Afghan security official said, according to Reuters reports.
