Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmavati continues to make headlines for one or other reasons. A few months ago, there were reports of ego clashes between the lead actors - Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. Ranveer apparently was miffed with Bhansali for Shahid's extended scenes, as he feared it might steal his thunder. Both the actors had, however, refuted the reports then.

But it seems the director doesn't want to take a risk as he apparently planned to keep the two away and shoot individual scenes as much as possible. Until now, Deepika Padukone, who plays Rani Padmavati in the film, has shot with Shahid while Ranveer has filmed only solo scenes.
"Sanjay sir planned the shoot in such a way that individual scenes of all actors were shot first. These will be followed by portions that see them together. Although Deepika [Padukone, co-star] who plays Rani Padmavati, and Shahid, as her husband Raja Ratan Singh, have shot together before, Ranveer has shot solo scenes until now," a source told Mid Day.
But in the coming week, both Ranveer and Shahid will shoot together and interestingly the first scene will see them getting involved in a war of words. The actor will prepare for the scene after Ranveer returns from his trip to London.
"There is latent animosity running through the scene. Before Ranveer injured himself while shooting last week, the scene was discussed with him," the source added.
Padmavati will see Deepika as queen of Chittor, Rani Padmavati, while Ranveer will be seen as ruler Alauddin Khilji and Shahid as Rani Padmavati's husband, Raja Ratan Singh of Chittor.
