Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much ambitious project Padmavati has been in the news due to several factors: ego clashes between star cast Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, their issues with the script, movie posters and screen space. However, looks like things have finally been sorted out as the lead actors Deepika, Ranveer and Shahid are gearing up for the shoot.
While the Piku actress will be portraying the character of the queen of Chittor Rani Padmavati in the period drama, Ranveer will be seen as ruler Alauddin Khilji, which is apparently a negative role. Shahid will essay the role of Rani Padmavati's husband King Ratan Singh of Chittor.
And now, the latest buzz is that another actress has joined the stellar cast. Aditi Rao Hydari has been roped in to play the role of Kamala Devi, one of Khilji's favourite wives.
"There have been several meetings that between Bhansali and Aditi and the director has finally decided on Aditi over four other choices. At the moment, the costumes and set designs are being finalised and the film rolls by November-end," a source close to the development told the Mumbai Mirror.
In other news, rumour has it that Padmavati will require Deepika and Shahid to share some intimate moments, SpotboyE reported. It now remains to be seen how Ranveer, who apparently is not happy with Shahid being a part of the film, will react to it.
Meanwhile, a set has been constructed at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai, similar to that of Padmavati's Water Palace in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh Fort. Apparently, the first sequence would be a song featuring Deepika. The gorgeous actress would be performing a Rajasthani folk dance.
