Overseas Box Office: 'Sardaar Ji' Tops International Collection Chart, Beats 'ABCD 2'

Punjabi movie "Sardaar Ji" (also spelled as "Sardar Ji"), which has done superb business at the overseas box office, has beaten "ABCD 2" ("Any Body Can Dance 2") to top the international collection chart.

With no new Bollywood releases, one-week-old movie "ABCD 2" continued to keep the bells ringing at the international markets in its second week. Trade analysts had predicted that the movie would once again top the business chart in all foreign markets.

"ABCD 2" has collected ₹2.99 crore ($470274) at the international box office in its second weekend and this figure also includes its business in United Arab Emirates and GCC. But it has failed to make it to the top of the business chart. The movie has collected ₹15 crore ($2.3 milion) at the overseas box office in 10 days.

"Sardaar Ji" released in over 106 cinema halls in key international markets such as the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand on 26 June. The movie has collected approximately ₹5.91 crore ($930388) at the overseas box office in the first weekend. The movie has pushed "ABCD 2" down to the second place in all these regions. The per-screen average collection of "Sardaar Ji" is more than that of "ABCD 2".
