ASUS has signed a deal with secondary products portal Overcart.com to sell its refurbished and unboxed ZenFone series of smartphones.
The agreement will enable ASUS to sell its entire ZenFone series at much lower prices than current market prices.
The ZenFone models available for sale will be unboxed sale models, which means they are completely refurbished with a seal. They also come to end users with a warranty period of six months from the date of purchase.
"This is an effort to make our products available to everyone. It is an irresistible offer as the phones are available at a price that is slashed further without compromising on performance which is the hallmark of ASUS," Peter Chang, Regional Head, South Asia & Country Manager, System Business Group, ASUS India said.
The models that will be sold will either be seal-opened but unused, or have some software issues, hence would be refurbished.
The sale of refurbished or unboxed phones is already happening in India through offline channels in large markets across the country. This tie-up will bring a brand like ASUS and its Zenfone series to the refurbished market through Overcart.com.
