"Outlander" is gearing up to grace the television screens once again.
The main characters of the show, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, recently revealed that an opening scene of the premiere episode of Season 1's second half will be aired on Saturday, 24 January. The sneak peek of the much-awaited episode will be aired just before the pilot episode of Starz's "Black Sails" Season 2. Heughan and Balfe made the announcement via the show's official YouTube channel.
In the video, Heughan starts the conversation by saying that the news is going to make "Outlander" fans "scream". He goes on to say that he and Balfe have some exciting news to share, before revealing the air date of the first look of the show's mid-season premiere. The video can be seen here.
"Outlander" has been on a long hiatus. The last episode, "Both Sides Now", aired in September, last year and since then fans have been waiting to watch Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser's dynamic love story. Black Jack captured Randall in "Both Sides Now". He tried to rape Randall at knifepoint when Fraser appeared in the window.
It was quite the cliffhanger and the upcoming 13 episodes will see what is the fate of Fraser and Randall's relationship. It has also been reported that the second episode of Season 1's part 2 will feature a heart-wrenching scene involving a baby. Balfe has reportedly acted in the scene, reported Eonline.
"Outlander" will be aired on TV in April 2015.
Meanwhile, another famous Starz show that is making headlines is "Black Sails". It is an adventurous drama, set decades before the events of Treasure Island. It stars Toby Stephens and Hannah New in the lead roles. The series has been created by Jonathan E. Steinberg and has already been renewed for the third season. The series has been shot at Cape Town Film Studios in Cape Town.
