Fox has just revealed its fall 2017 lineup and Seth MacFarlane's (Family Guy) sci-fi series, The Orville, is included in the list. The trailer- directed by Jon Favreau (The Jungle Book)- for The Orville has been released online.
The live-action series, set in a futurstic landscape, follows the adventures in Orville, a mid-level exploratory spaceship, as its crew- both human and alien- face the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the familiar, often humorous problems of everyday life.
The trailer features Seth MacFarlane and Adrianne Palicki as a divorced couple, Kirk and Spock along with a bunch of crazy crew. You can watch the trailer below.
Twitterati said the series resembles the Galaxy Quest series announced by Amazon in 2015, but never got a pilot order. While some others say the show is a spoof of Star Trek, with an extra layer of humour.
The cast of the live-action series includes Scott Grimes, Penny Johnson Jerald, Peter Macon, Mark Jackson, J. Lee, Halston Sage, and Norm Macdonald. The series is expected to air every Thursday from fall 2017.
