In the movie "Oru Vadakkan Selfie", Nivin Pauly's character dreams of working with ace filmmaker Gautham Menon. But it looks like, in real life, Manjima Mohan's dream to work with the ace filmmaker has come true as she has been cast in his next, "Accham Enbadhu Madamaiyada".
According to reports, Manjima Mohan has begun shooting for the Tamil movie, directed by Gautham Menon, which stars Simbu in the lead. In 2014, Gautham Menon had released the teaser of the movie that featured debutant Pallavi Subhash as the lead heroine, but at that time shooting of a major portion of the movie was left.
Later, the shooting of the movie got delayed when Gautham Menon went ahead with the shooting of Ajith starrer "Yennai Arindhaal". Being an ardent Ajith fan, Simbu was more than happy to reschedule his date. But when the shooting of the film resumed, lead actress Pallavi couldn't reschedule her dates and backed out from the flick. This left the makers to select a new heroine and Gautham Menon finally zeroed in on Manjima Mohan after watching "Oru Vadakkan Selfie".
With the new Gautham Menon movie, Manjima Mohan has joined the likes of Malayalam actresses like Asin, Nayanthara, Priya Mani, Lakshmi Menon, and Keerthi Suresh who found their niche in the Tamil film industry.
Though Manjima made her debut as heroine in "Oru Vadakkan Selfie", the actress was well known in the industry as a child artist. She had proved her talent as an artist when she won Kerala State film Awards for Best Child Artist for her performance in 2000 movie "Madhuranombarakattu".
Manjima is the daughter of renowned cinematographer Vipin Mohan and dancer Kalamandalam Girija.
