OnePlus is testing a new hyper-local delivery system in Bengaluru for its prominent One smartphone. After making its handset available across India, the new delivery system shows the company's confidence to meet consumer demands. OnePlus' strategy is quite similar to the popular pizza delivery system -- which allows the customer to get free pizzas if not delivered within 30 minutes. Similarly, you can now get the OnePlus One smartphone within 60 minutes of placing the order or you will get the handset for free.
OnePlus is fulfilling its commitment by partnering with a local logistics marketplace startup Blowhorn, which will ship out the handsets to addresses within the city. But, the order must be placed through Blowhorn mobile app, which is available as a free download on Google Play Store. Once the order is accepted by the app, expect the delivery within an hour.
"Can you ever imagine receiving a smartphone in about the same time as you order a pizza? At OnePlus, we think it's possible. At OnePlus we always look to challenge the status quo and wow our fans by making the user experience even better. Therefore we are daring ourselves this time to deliver the original flagship – The OnePlus One – to our fans in Bengaluru who wish to own the phone, within the guaranteed 60 minutes or give it away for free," Vikas Agarwal, General Manager at OnePlus India, said in a statement, Tech First Post reports.
OnePlus sees India as an important market owing to the successful sales in the country. During the first quarter this year, more than 40% of global sales and 7% of the company's overall sales last year came from India. It is worth noting that OnePlus did not spend on advertising, marketing or promotions of its products in the country.
Currently, the super-fast delivery system for OnePlus One is limited to Bengaluru, but the company plans on expanding to other cities in the future.
