Chinese smartphone major Oppo Electronics will reportedly foray into the Indian market later this month, with the launch of their flagship phablet N1.
Technology website Gadgets to Use, citing sources, have confirmed that the Chinese company would host an event in India on 30 January, to showcase the feature-rich N1.
Oppo Electronics, in a bid to promote their products in India, has signed up top Bollywood actors Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor as their brand ambassadors. Both artists have reportedly finished a commercial for Oppo N1 and are also expected to attend the event next week.
The Oppo N1 sports a 5.9-inch full HD (1920x1080p) IPS display, protected by Gorilla Glass 3 shield. It ships with Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 series CPU, Adreno 320 graphics engine, 2GB RAM and 16GB/32GB inbuilt storage.
One striking feature of the Oppo N1 is its rotating 13.0-megapixel camera on top that can twirl 206-degrees. It thus eliminates the need for a second camera on the front and also enables users to have high-quality video chat. The other notable feature of the device is the touch-sensitive rear panel 'O-Touch,' which enables users to scroll, navigate and also take a photo, without blocking the display on the front side.
As of now, there are no official details regarding its price in India but rumours are rife that Oppo N1 might launch with a price tag between ₹38,000 and ₹40,000.
