After the introduction of rotating cameras in its smartphones, Chinese smartphone major Oppo Electronics is now reportedly developing a new handset dubbed as Oppo Find 7, with a whopping camera of 50 megapixel.
A Chinese website GizChina has posted a sample photo taken with Oppo's new smartphone.
The 50 megapixel camera is something unheard of in the smartphone segment. As of now, Finnish handset maker Nokia is the frontrunner in this segment, with its two offerings Nokia Lumia 1020 and PureView 808. Although smartphone makers Sony, HTC and Samsung have also been battling to dethrone Nokia's sphere, it appears like Oppo has found a way.
The latest leaked image has a resolution of 8160 x 6120 and the EXIF data revealed that the image has been taken by Oppo Find 7. Besides the camera, the Oppo Find 7 is speculated to come in two variants- one with a 5.5-inch 2560x1440 resolution screen and another with a 5.0-inch 1920x1080 screen.
The other rumoured features of the smartphone include Snapdragon 801 processor and 3GB RAM. The specs of Oppo's rumoured smartphone look quite interesting and reports suggest that the handset will take on the likes of Samsung's Galaxy S5 and the HTC One. Oppo Find 7 is expected to make its global debut 19 March in Beijing.
Recently, Oppo has launched its flagship phablet, the N1 with a price tag of ₹39,999. The notable feature of this smartphone is its rotating 13.0-megapixel camera with 206 degree rotation with dual-LED flash. It is offered in 16 and 32GB storage variants and comes with features like 5.9-inch full-HD IPS display, 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and 2GB RAM.
