Oppo is not keeping it a secret anymore as it is vigorously running F9 Pro promotions. In the latest attempt to make sure its fans in India familiarise with the F9 Pro, the Chinese smartphone maker revealed key specifications about the phone ahead of its launch.
Oppo's social media handles are flooded with the new F9 Pro promotions, where the company has roped in several celebrities from the Indian TV and film fraternity to show off the new colour. The company's brand ambassador Deepika Padukone is also seen flaunting the cool new shade in the upcoming F9 Pro.
That said, the F9 Pro's colours are going to be one of the strongest USPs for the phone. According to Oppo, there will be three new colours to choose from, Sunrise Red (as celebs have flaunted), Twilight Blue and Starry Purple. All these colours have a gradient paintjob instead of a single dull finish. We've seen gradient paintjob in Huawei smartphones and it is refreshing to see companies take a new approach on the long-ignored feature.
But it is not the colours that will solely impress buyers as Oppo has many more tricks up its sleeve. Oppo F9 Pro is confirmed to get VOOC fast charging, which is 4x faster than conventional 5V/1A charging technology. We've tested VOOC charging first hand to confirm that it is a great addition to a smartphone and solves battery woes as it can give 2 hours talk time with just 5 minutes of charge.
Finally, Oppo confirmed that the F9 Pro will have "Waterdrop screen" with Full HD+ resolution – first for the company. The bezel-less form factor will allow Oppo to achieve 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, which is a tad lower than the Find X. However, Oppo did not reveal if the F9 Pro will have Gorilla Glass 6 as Corning recently confirmed that Oppo's next smartphone will be the first smartphone to have its latest display cover.
Oppo might be willing to share details about the F9 Pro, but it is being mysterious about revealing the phone's launch date in India. As a part of its latest revelation, the company confirmed that the F9 Pro will officially launch in India by the end of this month.
While these are the specifications Oppo consciously shared with fans, there's more to it. The photos of the handset shared by Oppo confirm that the F9 Pro will have horizontally-stacked dual cameras at the back and a fingerprint scanner below it. Oppo F9 Pro is also seen with a USB Type-C port, speaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom.
Earlier rumours have outlined the possible features of the F9 Pro, which is said to come with MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor, 4GBR AM, 64GB expandable storage, 3,500mAh battery and Android Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2. As for the optics, the dual rear cameras will have 16MP+2MP sensors and the front camera will sport a single 25MP sensor with AI features.
