Oppo is making strides in the smartphone arena, be it in India or China. Last month, the company launched its upgraded F1s variant in India, featuring 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. With the increased memory, Oppo aimed to make its great camera smartphone a better performer, and it has succeeded to an extent.
We reviewed the original F1s variant, which came with 3GB RAM, back in August, and appreciated the handset's camera. The handset was already one of the best performing phones in its range, but Oppo didn't seem satisfied with it. We received the F1s 4GB model for review and we know why.
After using the F1s 4GB variant, we noticed minor, yet necessary, performance upgrades. We wished the original F1s had come with the 4GB+64GB configuration to begin with. There is no change in specs or design in the upgraded F1s except for the RAM and storage. If you are interested in reading the full review of the F1s, you can check out our earlier post.

Let's dive into the performance review of the upgraded F1s since everything else in the phone is same as the previous version.
The overall performance of the F1s was uplifted by the 4GB RAM, especially in the multi-tasking space. To test the handset's full potential we ran some high-intensity games and it handled them pretty well. We also ran multiple apps at once and switched between them to encounter any lags, but the handset rarely got stuck at any point.
We also experienced better browsing and streaming facilities in the upgraded F1s than in the original variant. Jio users can make the most of this upgraded variant for enjoying buffer-free online streaming experience. The VoLTE integration is a boon in the upgraded F1s, a feature that was also available in the earlier version.
Oppo F1s is a great device for those who want great camera combined with dynamic performance at a reasonable price.
We received the gold variant of the phone, but we would recommend the grey hue for those who are willing to upgrade. At Rs. 18,990, which is Rs. 1,000 more than the original F1s, the upgraded variant can be your primary choice for a sub-Rs. 20,000 smartphone this year.
