The opening weekend box office collection of "Sanam Re" is the sixth highest of this year. Despite starring relatively new actors, the film managed to do well at the box office. The negative reviews from critics also did not seem to have any impact on the collections of the film.
"Sanam Re" was released along with Aditya Roy Kapur- Katrina Kaif starrer "Fitoor" and Hollywood movie "Deadpool", but it remained on top this weekend with its box office business. The Pulkit-Yami starrer is likely to remain ahead of the two films this week and end their first week on a good note.
Meanwhile, the film is all set to enter into the safe zone, as it has already recovered its production cost. "Sanam Re" made on a budget of Rs 20.50 crore has earned Rs 17 crore from its domestic run and Rs 16 crore from music, satellite rights and overseas distribution.
