Fans were happy when filmmaker Karan Johar announced that he will be back with the fifth season of "Koffee With Karan." And to double their excitement, Karan revealed the first guest of his chat show "Koffee With Karan 5."
During a twitter chat with his fans, Karan revealed that "Koffee With Karan 5" will happen in September or October and the opening episode will feature Shah Rukh Khan as the first celebrity guest.
Karan's chat show had always featured Shah Rukh in the first episode, except for the last season. In the first season, Shah Rukh appeared in the premiere episode, eighth episode and last episode. In the second season, Shah Rukh was the first guest along with Rani Mukerji and Kajol, and later he appeared with Farah Khan and Deepika Padukone in the 24th episode. In the third season, Shah Rukh made a solo appearance in the ninth episode, but he opened the show with a special message.
Shah Rukh did not appear in the fourth season of the chat show, which saw Salman Khan as the first guest. Shah Rukh's absence from the show raised many eyebrows and there were speculations that all is not well between Karan and him.
However, fans can rejoice now, as the new season will have Shah Rukh in the opening episode. In one of his recent Twitter interactions, a fan asked Karan will he invite Shah Rukh on the chat show, to which the filmmaker replied, "yes!!! Opening episode has to be him and no one else."
The filmmaker also confirmed that the show will start this year. When a fan asked Karan about "Shuddhi," he replied, "Koffee with Karan will be happening in September/October this year."
