The first day box office collection of Siva Karthikeyan's latest flick "Kakki Sattai" has come and the numbers suggest that the movie is heading to be the best ever for the young star.
The movie as per the latest reports has grossed ₹ 4.62 Crore in Tamil Nadu alone and the makers are now eagerly waiting for the All India and overseas reports of the movie. His previous biggest hit was "Varuthapadatha Valibhar Sangam" and "Ethir Neechal".
"Varuthapadatha Valibhar Sangam" which had reportedly earned ₹3.55 crore nett on the first day of its release and "Ethir Neechal" had earned ₹4 crore in its first day.
However, "Kakki Sattai" did not manage to surpass the first day box office collection of any recent Tamil releases including the last big release of Dhanush's "Anegan". The latest Dhanush movie had grossed ₹5.80 crore in Tamil Nadu which again is one of the best numbers for Dhanush in his career.
"Yennai Arindhaal" has grossed approximately ₹11 crore on its opening day with the net amount being approximately ₹8.35 crore in Tamil Nadu. Similarly, Vikram's "I" had minted ₹7.4 crore nett in Tamil Nadu (₹9.62 crore gross) and "Kaththi" and "Lingaa" day one collections amount to approximately ₹12.5 crore and ₹12.8 crore nett, respectively.
Meanwhile Industry analyst is now waiting to see if the movie can continue this momentum in the coming days and it does not pose threats from any other Tamil big release till the end of March.
"Kakki Sattai" was released in more than 750 screens worldwide with clean "U" certificate. The movie which is running tax free in Tamil Nadu had bagged mixed reviews from critics. Even then Siva Karthikeyan was much appreciated for his performance and effort.
