Telugu movie "Oopiri" has got great response at the U.S. box office Friday and Saturday and its collection is likely to cross the $1 million mark in the country in the first weekend itself.
"Oopiri" was released in 98 screens across North America March 25. Its distributors held paid preview shows in several locations across the country and the movie garnered very good response Thursday night. The film opened to superb response at the U.S. box office Friday and smashed the premiere and opening day collection records of Nagarjuna's last outing "Soggade Chinni Nayana."
The Nagarjuna-Karthi-Tamannaah starrer received positive response from the audience in the country. Trade experts predicted good word-of-mouth to take its business upwards Saturday. "Oopiri" showed big leap, which is way beyond the expectations and predictions. The film witnessed 70.95 percent growth on its second day.

In two days, "Oopiri" has beaten the first weekend record of Nagarjuna's "Soggade Chinni Nayana," which has collected $535,183 (Rs 3.62 crore) from 80 screens at the U.S. box office. The makers are yet to reveal its Sunday collection. But early trends suggest that the movie would beat the record of "Manam," which has collected $844,271 at the box office in its opening weekend.
