One week after announcing invite-free sales for OnePlus X around the world, OnePlus introduced open sales for its premium mid-range smartphone in India. The Chinese smartphone maker said the Onyx Black, Champagne Gold and limited edition Ceramic OnePlus X will be available without invites on Amazon India starting February 5.
OnePlus initially started off by making its OnePlus X smartphone available without invites every Tuesday in markets other than India. Only a handful of open sales for OnePlus X have been held in India so far, but the latest change makes it easier for shoppers to purchase the elegant-looking smartphone anytime.
"The invite system has been crucial to letting us scale our operations and has given our fans a unique way to share our brand story with the people in their lives," OnePlus said announcing open sale for OnePlus X in India. "It has been our constant endeavour to enhance the smartphone experience for all of you in taking risks by pushing ourselves and showing real improvements. That's why we're making the OnePlus X invite-free, forever, for a more cheerful buying experience."
Ever since OnePlus stepped into the smartphone race, it has been struggling to keep up with the growing demand for its phones. The company's first smartphone, OnePlus One, was available with invites for almost a year, but its successor was in the market without invites in just four months. By making OnePlus X available invite-free, the company appears to be more stable than ever to handle the consumers' demand.

OnePlus' co-founder Carl Pei said last week that every new device is helping the company grow mature and address consumers' demand more efficiently. With this move, all three smartphones in the company's portfolio are freely available.
OnePlus X Onyx and Champagne editions are priced at Rs 16,999, while the limited edition Ceramic costs Rs 22,999.
