OnePlus in its bid to up the ante against rival Xiaomi Mi4 has kicked-off an open sale of flagship smartphone One, sans the invite system on Amazon India.
The company's official e-commerce affiliate Amazon India confirmed the news on Twitter that OnePlus One can be grabbed on the website without invites on 26 February, the very same day Xiaomi Mi4 (16GB) went on sale, sans registration via Flipkart.

However, OnePlus One open sale was live for just one hour and that too was marred by technical glitches causing delay for some time. Later, Amazon India rectified the issue and allowed 'Happy Hour' sale to extend for another 45 minutes.
It has to be noted that this no-invite offer is valid on OnePlus One 64GB model only. Silk White 16GB model has to be purchased via the traditional invite system.
Due to technical issues the no-invite OnePlus One offer was delayed. It's now live @ http://t.co/xSVGHDfMlA for the next 45 minutes!

This intensifying rivalry between Xiaomi and OnePlus has in fact brought cheer among tech savvy buyers.
Earlier, both smartphones were very hard to get. For OnePlus One, buyers had to register themselves in a contest conducted by the company on Facebook and official forums and if lucky, they would get an invite to become eligible to buy the phone on Amazon India.
On the other hand, prospective consumers of Xiaomi Mi4 had to register on Flipkart. However registration does not guarantee the phone. A buyer will have to sit in front of their PC a couple of hours before the flash sale. Once the countdown clock strikes zero, they have to frantically press buy button; Only lucky few out of lakhs of people are able to get their hands on the device.
