OnePlus may have missed a few deadlines for rolling out the latest software to its flagship smartphone but the company is finally coming around. In a brief tweet to a users' query, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei said the anticipated release of Android 5.0 Lollipop based CM12S is just a few days away. He also confirmed that the forked OS has passed certification which is usually the last leg before an official OTA release.
.@jorgepenteado CM12s just passed certification today. Thanks for the patience, expect rollout in the next few days.

OnePlus is trying to keep its fans in the loop with timely updates. The CM12S update was expected to rollout to OnePlus One users by 30 March. Clearly, the Chinese phone maker missed the deadline, which was also the case when the company promised the rollout of Android Lollipop based Oxygen OS to its users. But the company finally stepped up its game and pushed out Oxygen OS to customers earlier this month.
The home-grown Oxygen OS rollout welcomed slew of new features and modifications. The changes included support for gesture controls, such as double tap to wake up the handset, a new file manager and customization options for lock screen wallpaper, hardware and software navigation keys and quick screen settings.
Rolling out Oxygen OS instead of Cyanogen was a major step for OnePlus, after being embroiled in a legal battle with Micromax over exclusivity contract. Micromax's YU brand owns full rights to offer exclusive OTA updates and support for CyanogenMod OS in India.
The new CM12S update will be pushed out to OnePlus One users over-the-air. After updating the device with latest software, users will be treated with improved privacy and permission controls, LiveDisplay to help users control how the display works at different times and more. According to Tech Shout, OnePlus has already started working on Android 5.1-based CM software but it is too early to predict the rollout timeline. But it hints at OnePlus' dedication to deliver the next OTA update on time.
