OnePlus 5 returns to spotlight as the handset's specifications sheet and pricing info have recently leaked online via a Chinese retailer known as GearBest who has listed the device for pre-order. The product listing reveals the internal specifications of the handset alongside the pricing information in US dollars (USD).
With the OnePlus team recently confirming the 'OnePlus 5' moniker and summer launch window, it is almost certain that the flagship OnePlus handset will hit the retail market by the end of June or sometime in July. OnePlus will be skipping the OnePlus 4 moniker as the number 4 is considered to be a bad omen in China given its association with death.
As far as specifications are concerned, the leaked specs sheet reconfirms all the highly-anticipated features including the 5.5in full HD or Quad HD display (2560x1440 pixels), smaller-sized bezels around the screen, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core processor clocked at 2.35GHz and paired with Adreno 540 GPU.
The handset will be dual-SIM compatible with support for microSD memory expansion and 8GB of RAM. Its internal storage will be limited to 64GB and the dual-SIM configuration will be compatible with 4G.
On the camera front, the OnePlus 5 will feature an enhanced 23-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front camera for capturing selfies. The handset is rated to offer up to 3 days of standby time with a 4,000mAh non-removable battery.
Furthermore, the OnePlus 5 will be powered by USB-C technology that facilitates faster battery-charging than on a normal device. Coming to the pricing details, the global variant of the device will be selling on GearBest at $688 while the Chinese version will be available for $449.99 for pre-order via the same website.
