After weeks of delay, OnePlus has finally announced the launch of the Android Pie OxygenOS Open Beta for OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T series.
It's more than a month since the OnePlus 6 series received new OxygenOS 9 series update and the OnePlus 5 and 5T series owners were getting tensed over the delay. But in November, the company allayed the fears by releasing China region-specific HydrogenOS and also confirmed that it would host the global OxygenOS beta testing programme for the former flagship phones before the end of November.
Though it failed to meet the deadline, it is finally live, bringing joy to OnePlus 5T, 5 series device users.
"We are very excited to announce that we are ready to roll out Open Beta builds based on Android 9.0 Pie for OnePlus 5 and 5T, thank you for your patience and we hope you enjoy the Pie," Manu J, Global Product Manager, OnePlus said in a statement.
Besides the usual Android Pie features, OxygenOS 9 is said to bring personalised features including new navigation gestures, optimisation of apps for background process handling, extend Parallel app feature for Telegram and other prominent apps, improvements to Weather app and more.
