OnePlus is all set to release its OnePlus 3 smartphone in the UK, and it will be exclusive to O2 carrier. The handset was released in other markets in June this year but is yet to hit several other countries.
"As the only operator in the UK to sell the OnePlus 3, we're proud to be bringing our customers more choice when it comes to picking their next flagship phone," Magnus McDonald, Head of Devices at O2, said in a statement. "The OnePlus 3 offers high quality cutting edge technology and great design at an affordable price and we think our customers will love it."
Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, said that the company chose O2 as their exclusive partner for selling OnePlus 3 in the UK because "they have a history of focusing on the most premium smartphones for the most savvy users."
OnePlus 3 will be available in O2 stores and online from September 29, with O2's Westfield White City store hosting OnePlus pop-up event from 10am till 10pm. The carrier will offer the device from £28 a month on the O2 Refresh plans.
OnePlus 3 features full-metal body, fingerprint technology, 152.7x74.7x7.4 mm dimension, and a 5.5-inch Full HD Optic AMOLED display with 1,920x1,080 pixels (401 ppi pixel density). Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor, an Android Marshmallow operating system, a 64GB internal memory (no microSD card slot), and a 6GB RAM. It has a 16MP Sony IMX 298 Sensor main camera with f/2.0 aperture, OIS, LED flash, 1.12 µm, an 8MP Sony IMX179 front-snapper with 1.4 µm and f/2.0 aperture, and a 3,000mAh battery with quick charge technology dubbed as the Dash Charge (5V 4A).
In terms of connectivity, the device supports dual-SIM slots, Bluetooth v4.2 LE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n/ac), USB Type-C, NFC (Near Field Communication), Dirac HD Sound and dual-microphone with noise cancellation.
