OnePlus appears to be getting ready to release its upcoming flagship device OnePlus 3 as several vital details of the device, including release date and specifications, have surfaced over the last few weeks. It has now emerged that the company may come up with a 6GB RAM variant of the "flagship killer".
The Chinese mobile phone manufacturer is expected to release the OnePlus 3 on June 14. The date is not confirmed but it holds some waters, as the OnePlus One was released in June 2014 and the OnePlus 2 in August 2015.
According to a report by by GizmoChina, the 6GB RAM variant of OnePlus 3 has been cleared by Chinese telecom equipment certification authority TENAA, giving a hint that the the device could be released soon. It was earlier reported that the next-generation device could come in two variants, one with a 32GB internal memory and 4GB RAM, and the other with a 64GB internal memory and 6GB RAM.
The report went on to claim citing sources that the 4GB RAM variant of the OnePlus 3 may come with a price tag of 1999 Yuan (around $308/Rs. 20,400). However, it is not confirmed yet.
Details on TENAA listing show the OnePlus 3 sporting a 5.5-inch AMOLED full HD display with 1,080×1,920 pixel, measuring 152.6×74.6×7.3 mm in dimension, and weighing 160 grams. It is seen with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocking at 2.15GHz, an Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, 32/64GB internal memory, 4/6GB RAM, 16MP main camera with LED flash, an 8MP front-snapper, and a 3,000mAh battery.
A report by TimesNews has also claimed that the OnePlus A3000, which is believed to be the OnePlus 3, has been cleared by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States.
