OnePlus hasn't revealed much about its upcoming flagship device, OnePlus 3, but it has confirmed its existence. It is expected to come packed with the latest technology currently available in the industry and is much superior to its predecessor, OnePlus 2.
Pete Lau, co-founder and CEO of the company, revealed at SURGE tech conference in Bangalore, India, that its next-generation device will be released in second quarter of this year. So, it should be released before June, or as early as April. The OnePlus One was released in June 2014, while the OnePlus 2 was launched in August 2015, the upcoming flagship device could come around this time of the year.

According to reports that have surfaced so far, OnePlus 3 will have a 5.5-inch display with 1,920x1,080 pixels, a CyanogenOS-based Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a 13MP main camera, a 5MP front-snapper, and a 3,500mAh battery. There are also reports that it will come in two variants – one with a 16GB internal memory and a 3GB RAM, and the other with a 64GB internal memory and a 4GB RAM.
Renders leaked by Mobile-Dad (via GizChina) has claimed that it resembles its predecessor OnePlus 2 and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Interestingly, renders of the device prepared by designer Hasan Kaymak and published by ConceptPhones has shown the device with a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 820 processor and a 4,000mAh battery.
However, one has to take the specifications of the device with a pinch of salt as OnePlus is yet to reveal any detail about its flagship handset.
On the other hand, OnePlus 2, which was released last year, sports a 5.5-inch LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density), and comes in two variants – a 16GB internal memory with 3GB RAM and a 64GB internal storage with 4GB RAM. Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, Adreno 430 GPU, a 13MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture and OIS, a 5MP front-snapper with f/2.4 aperture and a non-removable Li-Po 3,300mAh battery.
