Hype around the OnePlus 3 has started gaining momentum with its release date drawing close. Expectations on the upcoming flagship are high following the success of its predecessors – the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2.
The company is yet to reveal the release date of the OnePlus 3 but reports claimed that it will arrive in June, or in May. The report appears to hold some waters as the OnePlus One was released in June 2014 and the OnePlus 2 in August 2015. It was earlier reported that the device would be launched on April 7 but that didn't happen.
OnePlus claimed last year that the OnePlus 2 would be a "flagship killer," but devices like the Samsung Galaxy S6, the iPhone 6s, the HTC One M9 etc. were way ahead of it in terms of specifications.
Will OnePlus 3 turn out to be a killer of flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy S7, HTC 10 and the upcoming iPhone 7? Nothing is sure at the moment, but going by the specifications leaked so far, it appears like the device will give its rivals a run for their money.
According to GeekBench listing, the OnePlus 3 will come in two variants, one with a 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM, and the other with a 32GB internal memory and a 4GB RAM. It is also spotted with Full HD 1080p screen resolution a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 procesor.
It is reported that the OnePlus 3 will sport a 5.5-inch display with 1,920x1,080 pixels, run CyanogenOS-based Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and come packed with a 16GB internal memory and a 3GB RAM. It is also expected to have a 13MP main camera, a 5MP front-snapper, and a 3,500mAh battery with fast charging technology.
However, it may be noted that the aforementioned specifications of the OnePlus 3 are not confirmed.
