Amid rumours about Apple iPhone 7, Samsung Galaxy Note 6 and other flagship releases due this year, OnePlus is getting quite the attention for its upcoming OnePlus 3 smartphone. There have been substantial leaks about the company's unannounced flagship and the latest one adds to the hype. According to GizmoChina, the Chinese smartphone maker's new handset would come with an extremely fast charging feature.
The news comes after the OnePlus A3000 model received 3C certification in China (different from TENAA). As per the listing, the smartphone model, which is associated to OnePlus 3, would come with fast charging at 5V 4A with maximum 20W. This, according to GizmoChina, would speed up the charging process and looks identical to Oppo's low-voltage charging technology called Super VOOC Flash Charge, which was announced earlier this year.
Assuming OnePlus has partnered with Oppo on this feature, the OnePlus 3 would get a significant boost in terms of getting premium flagship features on board. Oppo's Super VOOC Flash Charge feature is said to fully charge a device with 2,500mAh battery in just 15 minutes, but the company did not reveal when it would integrate the tech into its own smartphones.
Besides the interesting addition, the certification of the OnePlus 3 also revealed that the handset could launch sooner than expected. As the company previously said the new flagship would launch in the second quarter of 2016, the new report claims it could happen as soon as this month.
On the lines of these rumours, a separate report from last month contradicted Super VOOC Flash Charge integration in OnePlus 3. According to a report by Pocketnow, OnePlus filed a patent for a new fast charging feature called Dash Charge, which is expected to be seen in the OnePlus 3 smartphone. It remains to be seen which fast charging feature OnePlus will use in its 2016 flagship.
In a recent sighting on GeekBench listing, OnePlus 3 is said to come in two variants, one with 6GB RAM with 64GB storage and another with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. The flagship will retain the Full HD 1080p resolution like its predecessor while powering with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset.
OnePlus 3 is also expected to come with an impressive 3,500mAh battery and run Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Hydrogen OS 2.0. In terms of pricing, the entry-level model would cost ¥1999 (approximately Rs 20,000) while the high-end model would come with a ¥2499 (around Rs. 25,500) price tag.
