Images of the long-rumoured OnePlus 3 have appeared on XDA Developers' forum, revealing that the new device is coming with a fully overhauled design language.
Close-up shots of OnePlus 3 show the positions of the smartphone's physical buttons, such as an alert slider on the left edge, a home button on the lower end of the display, and the volume rocker and power keys placed one above the other in the right side, similar to One Plus 2, but the overall design is completely different.
The former flagship model comes with curvier body and dual speakers at the bottom separated by a USB Type-C port. And on the rear, it features a polycarbonate-based shell with Sandstone finish. As far as the primary camera is concerned, it boasts of a 13MP camera will dual-tone LED flash and laser auto-focus.
On the other hand, the new device seen in the leaked images shows it will come with a candy-bar shape having sharper corners. Unlike OnePlus 2, it has a grille-based speaker on the bottom of the edge (on the left side) with a USB Type-C-based USB port at the centre and a 3.3mm audio jack to the right.
On the back, it features an all-metal cover with two plastic bands (for radio) — one each on the top and the bottom. It also houses a square-shaped camera module with a single LED flash below it, with no sign of laser emitter, which was a key camera feature in the 2015 model.
There is no credible proof to validate the authenticity of the images. But they look similar to the ones which were posted on OnePlus community's Google+ forum [HERE] a few days ago, leading many to believe the device in the leaked photos might be a prototype.
Expected features of OnePlus 3:
The upcoming phone is said to feature a 5.5-inch display and run Android 6.0.1 Marshamllow-based OxygenOS UI, besides having a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU, an Adreno 530 graphics engine, 4GB/6GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt memory, a 16MP camera with a dedicated shutter button, a dual-tone LED flash and an 8MP snapper on the front.
It is expected to debut in early June with prices starting at ¥1,999 (around $310/€268/Rs. 20,482).
