OnePlus is throwing breadcrumbs to keep its fans occupied with the OnePlus 2 excitement. Shortly after confirming the Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor for its upcoming flagship, OnePlus let out a new secret.
On Tuesday, the company revealed that the OnePlus One successor will feature all new USB Type C port, touting the integration as future proof.
With the handset's impending release in July and the company's weekly teasers, we are expecting to learn more details about the handset ahead of the official release. But OnePlus is smartly keeping specifics to itself so the element of surprise isn't withdrawn.
"The OnePlus 2 will be the first global flagship smartphone sporting this breakthrough technology. Its cable channels the same beautiful design of the OnePlus One's that our users love, but this time with the added convenience and comfort of a reversible plug. Great products make life easier, and reducing a bit of worry everyday when our users plug in their devices is a significant improvement in user experience that we're proud of," OnePlus wrote in a post early Tuesday.

The USB Type C port has not been adopted by OEMs on a large scale, but the efficiency and convenience of the reversible plug makes it a viable choice in the future. The new technology will improve the charging and files transfer with 100W and 10Gbps speed, respectively, NDTV reports.
Separately, Samsung is rumoured to feature a USB Type C port in its upcoming Galaxy Note 5, which is set to release at the IFA this September. In fact, USB Type-C will be supported by Android M for charging and Google is expected to launch future Chromebooks and smartphones with the new all-in-one connector. It clearly justifies OnePlus' claim that its upcoming OnePlus 2 will be "future proof."
While other specs are yet to be revealed by the Chinese tech giant, rumours suggest the OnePlus 2 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection, 16-megapixel primary camera, 5MP front snapper, 3,300mAh Li-Po battery and Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
