OnePlus 2 May Boast Full-Metal Body, Hints Company CEO

The much-eagerly-awaited flagship Android smartphone of the year, OnePlus 2, may possibly boast a full metal-body, if the cryptic message by the company executive is to be believed.

OnePlus founder & CEO Liu Zuohu on his official Weibo account has asked fans, "How to define full metal" and this apparently sparked off speculations that the upcoming OnePlus 2 may come with a metal shell.

The assumption of OnePlus 2 featuring metal-body doesn't seem far-fetched as some reports in the past too had indicated the presence of metal to provide sense of premium flagship smartphone. Many tech pundits believe that OnePlus 2 will either feature a full-metal body similar tier-1 brands like Apple iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S6 (& S6 Edge) and HTC One series or else feature metal-frame around the edges with sturdy polycarbonate shell like Xiaomi Mi4 and Lumia 930.

In 2014, OnePlus One truly lived up to its moniker 'Flagship Smartphone Killer' and now going by the series of key features detailed by the company over the last one month, the forthcoming OnePlus 2 seems poised to stir another storm in the smartphone industry. The new phone is set to get unveiled on 27 July.

Expected Features of OnePlus 2

OnePlus 2 is said to be shipped with Snapdragon 810 v2.0 SoC (System on Chip), 4GB/3GB RAM, 64GB (expandable), a 3,300mAh battery, a 16mp camera on the rear side and an 8mp snapper on the front.

Despite housing top-of-the-line hardware inside the body, OnePlus Two is rumoured to come with an affordable price tag of ¥2499 (around $403/€369/₹25,752).
