"Once Upon a Time" Season 5 has been on a long midseason break since it aired its Episode 11, "Swan Song", on 6 December, 2015. The show will continue to be on a hiatus and will not air any new episode even this Sunday. ABC has finally confirmed that it will return with Episode 12, "Souls of The Departed", for Season 5B only on 6 March, 2016.
In the midseason finale made way for our heroes to explore the Underworld and it has already been decided who all will be taking that trip. And now, when the show returns next month, all these heros from Storybrooke will meet many characters including Peter Pan, Neal, Regina's mother, Prince Henry, Sidney Glass, The Blind Witch, Cruella de Vil and Milah from the past.
The second half of the season is expected to be more challenging to many characters and will also throw more light on Belle and her relationship with Rumple. The showrunners, in a recent interview, have teased that in "Once Upon a Time" 5B Belle will have a very crucial role to play.
"We have plans to keep Belle busy. Although she didn't get on the boat to the Underworld with our heroes, she's important to the story and becomes very involved," co-creator Adam Horowitz told TVLine.
Horowitz also hinted that Belle may have issues with Rumple and their relationship will be handled in an unexpected way. "We left them in a place where that relationship was evolving -- though unbeknownst to Belle, her husband has gone darker than ever. We're not abandoning any of those story threads and we're hoping to pick up on them in an unexpected way," he said.
