Onam 2015 will see the clash of the titans at the box office as stalwarts of Malayalam cinema are set to lock horns with each other along with others.

Well, it's not just Lalettan and Mammookka starrers that will clash at the box office. Apart from Mohanlal's "Loham" and Mammootty's "Utopiayile Rajavu", other films like Prithviraj-Indrajith starrer "Double Barrel", Kunchacko Boban's "Jamna Pyari" and Vineeth Sreenivasan's "Kunjiramayanam" will also join the tug-of-war.

'Loham': An Action Thriller Moulded in Mohanlal-Ranjith Partnership

"Loham", with the catchy tag line "The Yellow Metal", revolves around the a taxi driver, Raju, (Mohanlal) and Jayanti (Andrea Jeremiah), who hires his taxi. The incidents that follow forms the crux of the story.

The cast also include Ajmal Ameer, Siddhique, Renji Panicker, Harish Peradi, Mythili, VK Prakash and others.

The Mohanlal starrer will release a week ahead of other Onam releases on Thursday, 20 August.

The action-thriller, which is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, will be released in over 250 theatres with about 1,000 shows daily.

'Utopiyayile Rajavu': A Satire Woven by Mammootty-Kamal Camaraderie

"Utopiyayile Rajavu", a Kamal directorial, will star Mammootty and Jewel Mary in the lead roles.

Mammootty will be essaying a sculptor in the film, which is touted as a satirical comedy.

The Mammootty starrer will release on Thursday, 27 August, a day before Thiruvonam.

Double Barrel: Another Masterpiece from 'Amen Director'

"Double Barrel" aka "Iratta Kuzhal" will be another masterpiece from Lijo Jose Pellissery, who has directed critically acclaimed films including "Nayakan" (2010), "City of God" (2011) and "Amen" (2013).

The comedy thriller will be a great visual experience with its unique setting, colourful costumes and star-studded cast.

Prithviraj, Arya, Indrajith will play key roles in the film. Swati Reddy, Asif Ali, Isha Sharvani, Sunny Wayne, Vijay Babu, Manu, Chemban Vinod, Pearle Maaney, Sabu Abu Samad and Rachana Narayanankutty will also be part of the cast.

"Double Barrel", which is produced jointly by August Cinemas Pvt Ltd and Amen Movie Monastery, will be released on Thursday, 27 August.

'Kunjiramayanam': An 'Epic' Comedy by 'Sreenivasan Brothers'

"Kunjiramayanam", which is the debut directorial of Basil Joseph, will see brothers Vineeth and Dhyan Sreenivasan sharing screen space for the first time.

The film has Srinda Ashab and Sneha Unnikrishnan as female leads. The cast will also have Aju Varghese, Neeraj Madhav, Mamukoya, Seema G Nair, Hareesh, Deepak Parambol, Bijukuttan and Arya.

"Kunjiramayanam", which is produced by Suvin K Varkey under the banner of LittleBig Films and distributed by E4 Entertainment, is slated for release on 28 August.

'Jamna Pyari': A Comedy Gold from Chackochan

"Jamna Pyari" is directed by Thomas Sebastian and written by PR Arun. Debutant Gayathri Suresh plays the female lead opposite Kunchacko.

The cast will also have Joy Mathew, Aju Varghese, Neeraj Madhav and Suraj Venjarumoodu in pivotal roles.

The film, which is produced by Jaison Elamgulam under the banner of RJ Creations, is slated for release on Friday, 21 August.
