Being too handsome is a crime apparently in Saudi Arabia. Recently there were reports that a group of delegates were sent back to the UAE from Saudi Arabia on the grounds that they were "too handsome".
The three men were attending an annual Jenadrivah Heritage & Cultural Festival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, when they were forcibly deported to the UAE.
"A festival official said the three Emiratis were taken out on the grounds that they are too handsome and that the Commission [for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vices] members feared female visitors could fall for them," Arabic language newspaper, Elaph reported.
The religious police in Saudi took immediate measures to send them back to Abu Dhabi, because they feared that woman visitors could fall for them.
The names of the three men have not been released officially. But rumours have being doing the round that one of the trio has been identified.
US gossip website Jezebel has reported that Omar Borkan Al Gala is one of the three men who were kicked out for being too handsome.
According to the website, Al Gala is fashion photographer, actor and poet from Dubai.
Al Gala's Facebook page, that has around 3 lakh likes, is spreading like wildfire on internet after it was reported that he was one of the three.
He also posted a link with a message on the social networking site seemingly confirming that he was one of them.
"This is what written in newspapers in over the world :) UAE men ordered to leave Saudi Arabia for being 'too handsome'," he posted on Facebook.
